Transcript of the Will of Martha Weaver 1837 - 1917
This is the last Will and Testament of me Martha Weaver of Spring Farm
Littleton Winford in the County of Somerset Widow I appoint my Sons James Weaver
of Court Farm Yatton and Albert Weaver of Powder Mill Farm Winford both in the
County of Somerset Farmers to be the Trustees and Executors of this my Will I
give devise and bequeath all that freehold farm called "Spring Farm" with the
two closes of arable and pasture land called "Blackmoor" now in the occupation
of James Marshall and the paddock at the back of my house to my son the said
James Weaver and my daughter Kate Gallop the Wife of George Gallop of Ince
Alveston Gloucestershire Farmer in equal shares as tenants in common in fee
simple But subject to and charged with the payment to my Trustees of the sum of
Two hundred pounds to be held by them Upon trust for my daughter Agnes Vowles as
hereinafter mentioned I give and devise to my Trustees All those closes of land
called "Pepperleaze" (about Thirteen Acres) and "The Mead (four acres) Upon
trust to pay the rents and profits thereof to my daughter Sarah Ann Gillett of
Barrow Gurney for her life and after her death to sell the same and divide and
pay the net proceeds unto and equally between all her children I give and devise
to all my Trustees All that close of freehold land in Dundry Hill purchased from
Mr Kidd and also All that close of freehold land called "Barrow Mead" Upon trust
to pay the rents and income therefore unto my daughter the said Agnes Vowles for
her life And after her death to sell the same and to divide and pay the net
proceeds unto and equally between all her children including Edith Weaver or
Brown born before my said daughters marriage And I direct my trustees to invest
the sum of Two hundred pounds to be paid to them by my son the said James Weaver
and my daughter the said Kate Gallop and to pay the income of such Investment to
my daughter the said Agnes Vowles for her life and after her death to apply the
said sum in like manner as the proceeds of the sale of the land left for my
daughter Agnes is directed to be divided I give and bequeath All that part of my
freehold farm called "Powder Mill Farm" situate on the North side of the Road
leading from Winford to Chew Magna containing about Twenty four acres unto my
Son the said Albert Weaver for his life with power for my Son to appoint the fee
simple thereof to or for his children as he shall think fit but if my Son Albert
shall die without leaving issue then I direct that the said farm shall be sold
and the proceeds divided between my other children (the shares of my daughters
being held Upon trust for them similar to the trusts of the gifts and bequests
to them contained in this my Will) I give my household furniture and poultry to
my Grand daughter Lucy Gillett absolutely I give to my Grandson Charles Gillett
a legacy or sum of Twenty pounds All the residue of my Estate I give unto and
equally between my children (my daughters share to be held in trust for them) I
hereby revoke all Willsheretofore made by me In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand this twelfth day of February One thousand nine hundred and
fourteen

us both being present at the same time who at her request in her presence and
in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

On the 8th of October 1917 Probate of the Will was granted at Bristol to
James Weaver and Albert Weaver the Executors
